Weather: another consideration

It depends where you put your rabbits cage. Also, both winter and summer affect rabbits. Read the one that affects where your rabbit currently is.

Outdoor Hutches:
Hutches are always nice to have in the summer, allowing your rabbit(s) to get fresh air.
Summer:
It can get pretty hot in the summer. Make sure you have two compartments in your hutch. One for Day, and one for the night. In the day section, you can have your wooden cage, than have metal bars or something like that so your bunny can get fresh air and you can see them. in the night section, just have it wood. Your bunny can go there to cool down.
Winter:
Ah, the coldest season. If you can, bring your bunnies inside if its -30. That is just too cold. Put some blankets in there, and tuck them in.

Indoor Cages:
There isn't too much to summer and winter here. In the summer, keep your bunny away from really sunny windows. There is a possibility it could kill your rabbit. Don't keep it to dark, either. Bunny will get scared. Night is an acception. Put it somewhere in between.

Homade Bunny Treats

You will need:

* 1 c. rolled oats, finely ground (coffee grinder works best)
* 1/4 c. rabbit pellets, finely ground
* 2 medium-sized bunches of parsley
* 1/2 of a carrot
* 1/2 of a banana
* 1/4 c. + 1 tbsp. water

Preheat oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet or stone with wax paper (baking stones actually work best). Grind pellets and oats down to a powder and set aside. Puree parsley, carrot, banana and water. This should become fairly liquefied, so you can add more or less water depending on the consistency. In a bowl, mix puree and dry ingredients. Knead until a stiff dough is formed. Dough will be somewhat sticky. Place ball of dough between 2 sheets of wax paper and roll to about 1/8 – 1/4 of an inch thick. Cut into small squares and place on baking sheet. Bake for about 30 minutes (don't let them get too brown), then turn off the heat and let them sit in the warm oven for at least an hour. (The last step is really important because letting them sit in a warm oven is what dries them out so they'll keep for a really long time and not grow mold!)

Bunnies clean themselves by licking themselves. Angora rabbits have long fur so they cannot lick themselves.

Bunnies need to be brushed and checked for ticks. you can give bunnies baths by using water and a cloth and wiping off dirt. You can buy bunny shampoo, but this will work well.

bunny exercise pen

Exercise
Everyone needs exercise. For bunnies, you can buy play pens for them or simply let your bunny go to an empty room that doesn't have any cords that your bunny can reach because bunnies do chew on cords. Also keep valuables and wood out of reach because bunnies do like to chew and wreck stuff. You can buy bunny leashes, so in the summer you can bring your bunny outside to play.

What bunnies eat

Bunnies need lots of food to keep them healthy. Their teeth are always growing, so give them bark and sticks to chew on. You can buy chew toys for them at pet stores.
Bunnies also need rabbit food, vegetables and a little bit of fruit. For every 5 pounds a bunny is, they should get 1/3 cup of rabbit food, 2 cups of vegetables and 2 table spoons of fruit. They also need timothy hay or alfalfa grass, which you can buy at pet stores.
